McLean Day Schools Settlement Corporation Holds Legacy Fund Information Session for Federal Indian Day Schools Survivors

On Monday, October 25, 2021, McLean Day Schools Settlement Corporation (MDSSC) will be holding a Legacy Fund Information Session for all Federal Indian Day Schools Survivors and their families.

This virtual Information Session will cover the Legacy Fund Outreach Process, and outline the ways that Survivors and their families can provide feedback directly to MDSSC to help guide the implementation of the Legacy Fund and ensure it is responsive to the unique needs of Survivors.

The Legacy Fund was created to support four primary areas: language & culture, healing & wellness, commemoration, and truth telling. Grants from the Legacy Fund will be made based upon proposals from not-for-profit organizations, community groups, and others.

More details about the Legacy Fund will become available after MDSSC has engaged in the outreach sessions with Survivors and their families, and developed the applicable guidelines and procedures for Legacy Fund grant applications based on their feedback.

The wellness of Federal Indian Day Schools Survivors and their families is important to MDSSC. Mental health supports will be available throughout the one-hour Legacy Fund Information Session
